Pumpkin is an unaltered outdoor pig in need of a new home where he'll have more space and maybe some piggy friends to keep him company. He's not particularly friendly and can only be pet if you have food. He's better with kids or shorter people - he isn't a fan of people towering over him and prefers if you crouch down to feed him. He loves rolling in mud and (of course!) food.
He's great with cats, and does ok with dogs as long as food isn't around. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.)
Transportation is not available, so the adopter will need to make arrangements.
Pumpkin is not altered so arrangements must be made to neuter prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Neutering prevents behavior issues and eliminates that classic boar odor.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
Donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
