Wilber C in Jamison, PA
Wilber C

Update: Wilber is boarding at Ross Mill Farm in Jamison PA (as of spring 2023) and is doing incredibly well. His mom comes to visit and said he's a very well behaved piggy here. He seems so much calmer and content, and she saw zero aggression towards anyone (including other pigs). Having plenty of outside time and lots of space to explore is helping him be a happy and fulfilled little guy, as well as being around other pigs who help by teaching him piggy manners. He might make a wonderful companion to another piggy in need of a friend!

Wilber is a handsome inside piggy who is housebroken (goes outside to potty), harness trained, crate trained, and travels well in cars. He is neutered and current on routine vet care & his shots. He loves grazing and rooting all day long outside, and loves snuggling with his family at night. Besides food, he also enjoys nesting and laying in front of the heater and/or fireplace on cold days/nights.  He lived with 2 (7yr old) cats and was perfectly fine with them.

Wilber is a headstrong piggy who has no problem telling people and animals what he wants or doesn't want by grunting or headswiping, and he doesn't like to be challenged by humans or dogs. A pig-savvy home would be wonderful, but someone willing to work with Susan and PPN on behavior would also be perfectly fine for him. Note: With the recent update at the top of this listing, if Wilber is placed in a home with ample outside time during the day & another pig friend, he'll likely not have the behavior issues he had previously. PPN is always happy to provide information on pig behavior to help ensure piggies are happy and healthy family members, which is crucial for well-adjust piggies. A dog free home is still best, though.

He needs a home without dogs, and since he can be unpredictable with headswipes and biting, a home without very young kids is probably best. He lived with 2 senior dogs and was fine with the 14yr old after the dog learned the pig was in charge. Unfortunately, Wilber went after the 15yr old dog when it was sleeping recently [Spring 2023] which is why he is now boarding at RMF.
