Spooky in Concord, NC
Spooky

Spooky was donated to a school on Halloween from a family that did not realize how large he would get. He has lived with goats and does well with them if they are submissive and move out of his way. He loves getting belly rubs when he is resting in the sun. He will run anywhere for bananas. Spooky's favorite time of year is the summer when he gets peace and quiet for long mud baths and truckloads of veggies from the farmers market.

Spooky is being rehomed because he has become very unpredictable with students and the other livestock. He seriously injured 2 goats and has charged at students without provocation 3 times in the last month. He definitely does not like larger groups of teenagers in his pasture area. He does perfectly fine with the teacher, so it's likely that a calmer environment that doesn't have classes of students around will be a better fit for him. It's also likely that once he's neutered and his hormones calm down, he'll be a much more mellow guy.

Transportation is not available, so the adopter will need to make arrangements.

Spooky is not altered so arrangements must be made to neuter prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Neutering prevents behavior issues and eliminates that classic boar odor.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/

Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.

Donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
