Sophie in Laurinburg, NC
Sophie

Meet Sophie! She's an easy going pig gets along with everyone except hyper dogs; they freak her out. She's fine around calm dogs.  (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) She's good with kids of all ages, too!

Sophie is being rehomed because she's broken out of the fence and her disabled owner is not able to keep getting her back or fix the fence so she can't escape. She'll need a proper piggy fence/pen; PPN suggests hog panel & T-posts. Once she's spayed, the escaping behaviors may also chill out, since it's often hormone-driven.

Transportation is not available, so the adopter will need to make arrangements.

Sophie is not altered so arrangements must be made to spay prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
