Short & Curlies Animal Rescue & Sanctuary (SCARS) is a registered 501c3 rescue and sanctuary located in Central PA and specializing in potbelly and other "mini" pigs. We give refuge to abandoned, neglected, and abused pigs, and provide education and assistance to the public and other pig owners.

SCARS has been involved in the pig community since 2009, and we informally started rescuing pigs in 2012. But in 2018 we became involved in a situation that involved us taking in 9 pigs (in addition to our own 5), and we decided it was time to formalize our rescue.

We normally house 20-30 pigs at any time. That includes our personal pigs, rescues available for adoption, pigs that will live out their days as part of our sanctuary, and both short-term and long-term boarders.
