3/1/24 Still available! They need a new home asap, the town doesn't allow pigs & they're being fed extra to keep them quiet!!!!
Porkahontas and Albert Swinestein are an adorable pair of bonded outdoor piggies. They were in a not-so-great environment recently, and were finally able to get out of that situation - unfortunately, where they are now is not a permanent placement & they desperately need to find a loving home. The town they live in doesn't allow them & they need to be rehomed urgently!
Both have been around older children. They are fine with them, but they aren't especially affectionate either. They do like being scratched behind the ears and belly rubs. They have been kept separated from dogs and cats. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) They have roomed with miniature horses and chickens.
Albert is a neutered male. He is very passive, just an all around mellow dude. Although he does not actively seek out attention, he loves treats and will allow petting. Porkahontas is a spayed female who was originally a crate trained, house trained pet who "outgrew" her prior family. She is more assertive in her behavior than Albert, but also LOVES belly rubs and will flop over happily to receive them. She is the "boss" of the 2 pigs and can be vocal if she doesn't get her way.
It is preferred to adopt them as a pair, but given the circumstances, they can be separated if needed. They were just recently able to be moved from where they were being poorly cared for, but not able to stay where they are. Transportation to their new home is available within 100 miles.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
Donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
