Polly is an outside pig in need of a new home that can provide more attention and proper vet care for her. She gets along well with other animals such as dogs & cats. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) She has been around all different aged kids. She is good with them as long as they don't push on her. She's unspayed and has never had vet care.
"She lives rooting around the yard. Loves to follow you and walk with you. She loves to lay on the front porch in front of the door. She is very sweet but can have an attitude. She does NOT like to be pushed or moved out of the way and will turn to nibble at you, to let you know she’s not happy. That is about the only dislike so far. She LOVES her belly and back rubs and giving kisses. She loves to talk when you come back home from being gone a few hours. And will also start to talk when you call her name. She is very sassy but very sweet and loving. Especially when she gets attached to you."
Transportation is not available, so the adopter will need to make arrangements.
Polly is not altered so arrangements must be made to spay prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors. She may need a diet before she can be safely spayed.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
Donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
