Penny Jane is a sweet girl who is very loved. Her mom has a significant health issue and is concerned about her ability to continue caring for her in the future, so she's looking for a loving home for her now while she can.
Penny Jane, aka Penelope, pretty much does her own thing. She loves food. Her mom wouldn't recommend small children feeding her, as she gets very excited in might nip. She does well with other animals like dogs & cats. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) She was an indoor previously, but had some litterbox issues once she got bigger and she moved outside permanently. She has a 4x4 box built with a dog house heater to keep her warm in the winter, and she has free access to the yard.
Special Needs: Penelope has already started a diet and is smaller than she looks in some of the photos. PPN would be happy to work with the adopters to continue on an appropriate diet plan. She has some vision issues: she is missing one eye and has reduced vision in the other.
Transportation is available within 30 miles max to the new home.
It's unknown if Penny Jane is altered so you should discuss spaying with your vet. She might be too heavy to spay at the moment, and your vet may prefer not to spay a pig her age. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
