*11/05/22 Still available!* Peggy is a sweet and mellow gal who likes to relax and search for fallen mangoes in the yard to eat. She spends most of her days relaxing in the backyard with the dogs. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) It's unknown whether she would be good with children because she's never been around them. Peggy used to be able to spin and jump for food when she was a baby, but she is overweight now and doesn't do those tricks anymore. PPN can help the adopters with a proper weight management plan for Peggy. He family estimates her weight at around 250 lbs.
She's being rehomed because her living situation isn't ideal. She doesn't have much space outside, and as an only pig living outside, she might be lonely. Pigs who live outdoors do best in pairs (or more!). This means that Peggy could make a good friend for another outdoor pig. Assistance with introducing your pig to Peggy can be provided by PPN.
Peggy is not altered so arrangements must be made to spay prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors. She may need to loose some weight before being spayed.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
Donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
