Peaches & Peanut are two outdoor pigs who were given up 2 months ago. Unfortunately, they prior home told the current family they were socialized and used to children, but that hasn't been the case. The pigs have been bitey and need a home without small kids and with lots of space to roam.
Both Peaches and Peanut do well with other animals. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) They like to bathe in the sun, eat, root, and run around the yard. They are not socialized and dislike people and being touched. Peanut is the friendlier of the two, but still will bite at you and charge you, just less than Peaches does.
Transportation is not available, so the adopter will need to make arrangements.
Peaches & Peanut are not altered so arrangements must be made to spay prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
Donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
