Porky is a mellow outdoor pig who needs a new home. She's very laid back and enjoys her naps. Sleeping, snoring, and eating are her favorite things. She is okay being pet once she gets to know you, but is shy for a bit with new people. She has never shown a bit of aggression in her life. The farm hand is a 17 year old neighborhood kid. Porky doesn't have any experience with young kids.
Porky's partner Chops (a neutered male) passed away about 3 months ago and she seems to be handling it well. For the first few days she didn't eat, then with veggies and some watermelon she got her appetite back. She'd probably love a new home with a pig friend to keep her company again. The goats go up to her pen and they are nose to nose and she's good. But other than that, she's now alone.
Transportation is not available, so the adopter will need to make arrangements.
Porky is not altered so arrangements must be made to spay prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
