9/4/24 Still available! Minasqueals is one of three remaining pigs in need of a home. Runt was originally purchased from a craigslist ad by the mother who was breeding them, and the daughter inherited the pigs. The daughter knows she's unable to provide proper vet care and that they need to be rehomed to ensure there are no more babies. Runt is the father of Minasqueals and Tiny pig. None are altered and they are not separated, although they have not had babies in the last year.
Runt, Minasqueals, and Tiny Pig are all outside pigs. They have never had vet care, and have no experience with children or any animals besides other pigs. They can be adopted separately or together, as long as they are all altered by your vet immediately after adoption.
Runt used to be friendly when he was younger, but he has gotten territorial with age and can get nippy when the females are in heat. He will likely be a much better behaved boy once he's neutered and not around unspayed girls. He currently backs the owner out of the pen once the food is gone.
Minasqueals & Tiny Pig are two unspayed females who were friendly and super affectionate when they were little. They loved being held. But the males got territorial and didn't let the humans play with the girls anymore so they have been unsocialized for the last 2 years.
Tiny Pig is special needs: ever since she had babies 2 years ago when she was too young, she stopped growing and has always been very thin. She has to have her food watered down and she chokes when eating nearly every day. She needs to be evaluated by a vet.
Transportation is available within 60 miles to the new home.
These pigs are not altered so arrangements must be made to spay/neuter prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors. Neutering prevents behavior issues and eliminates that classic boar odor.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
