Meet Matilda! Matilda is a docile pig who is very laid back. She takes a little bit to get used to new people, but as soon as she is comfortable, she loves belly rubs and back scratches. She is not aggressive at all. Matilda is good with children of all ages. She's also been good around other animals including cats, dogs, goats, and sheep. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.)
The family that took her in said she was left behind along with goats and sheep, by her original family after they moved out. They were able to rehome the goats & sheep, but couldn't find anyone for Matilda. She seems very sad and lonely, so they think having another pig or animals as companions would really make her happy. They were told she lived with other pigs when she was young, and also had 2 piglets of her own. Matilda deserves the best and we want to find her a place where she can live her life to the fullest, hopefully with another pig!
Transportation is available (within reason) to the new home.
Matilda is not altered so arrangements must be made to discuss spaying with your pig-savvy vet. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors. Matilda may need to be dieted first before she can safely have surgery.
