Meet Henry! This sweet guy is friendly to people he knows, but skittish until he gets used to you. If you shake food he’ll come to anyone - he will nip at feet for food, so keep those toes covered! If he'll let you pet him, he loves his belly rubbed. He's scared of kids that chase him, but calm or older kids would be fine. He loves playing and chasing his dog brother. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) He's housebroken, crate trained, and rides well in cars. Henry has been wandering out of the yard and the family is afraid for his safety. His new home will need a fence or pen for him to safely have outside time. Henry can stand on his back legs for treat, and also knows sit.
Transportation is available to his new home within 50 miles.
Henry is not altered so arrangements must be made to neuter prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Neutering prevents behavior issues and eliminates that classic boar odor.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
Donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
