Hamlet showed up on the property about two years ago and the family believes he was dumped. He has been good with kids in the past, but recently was aggressive with the woman who took him in. He isn't big on rooting and loves a good soak. He loves treats and other animals. He's kept separate from the dogs, but he is good with goats, chickens, pigs and a mini donkey. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.)
Transportation is available within 50 miles to the new home, although they have never transported him before, so if the adopters can bring him to his new home that would be preferred.
Hamlet is not altered so arrangements must be made to neuter prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Neutering prevents behavior issues and eliminates that classic boar odor.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
Donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
