Fern in Grants Pass, OR
Fern

3/11/24 Still Available! Introducing Fern! This adorable girl is a kune kune, a breed known for their incredible personalities and wonderful dispositions. She’s such a friendly girl, her family would like to see her go to a home where she can get more attention and have more pasture. She's very skilled at digging her own in-ground swimming pool hole next her above-ground swimming pool. She's a fantastic choice for someone looking for an outside piggy.

Fern's goat friends are gone now and she's getting lonely. She is good with dogs, goats, and turkeys. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) Fern is good with children ages 5 and up. She's very friendly, but has never been around children younger than 5. So far she gets along with everyone and hasn't met another creature she doesn't get along with!

Her family said this about her: "Fern loves water! She likes to drink from the hose on hot days and wallow in her swimming pool. We call her scuba pig because she puts her snout under water and blows bubbles. She gets the zoomies and runs around her yard with her goat friends. She loves people and will roll over for belly rubs. She also loves being scratched behind her ears and cuddling with anyone she can get next to. She has been sharing her yard with four goats her whole life and happily shares sleeping quarters with them. Fern is a lovely, friendly girl who loves company and naps in the shade."

Transportation is not available, so the adopter will need to make arrangements.

Fern is not altered so arrangements must be made to spay prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/

Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.

Donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
