Emma in Blodgett, OR
Emma

8/13/24 Still available! Lucy and Emma are two female kune kune pigs who were rescued in the fall of 2021 from someone who lost their home. The person who took them in has been trying to rehome them ever since, but it has become more urgent recently. The land isn't ideal and they have to be confined to a pen in the fall/winter due to the ground being too wet and the possibility of them getting stuck in the mud. They have little grazing area when the weather is nicer and it's an incredibly hilly area with very steep slopes. They need a better environment with easy grazing land to help work off the extra weight quicker.

Lucy & Emma are both friendly and enjoy being pet. They don't have any experience around kids, but they interact freely with dogs who have been trained to leave pigs alone. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) They are fine with the cat and chickens, too. They are very clean, and take their beauty sleep very seriously. They don't even want to get up if you feed them too early. They've been dieted and have lost quite a bit of weight already, but the new family will need to keep them on their diet for a while longer.

Emma & Lucy are bonded sisters who must be placed together.

Transportation is not available, so the adopter will need to make arrangements.

Emma & Lucy not altered so arrangements must be made to spay once they get down to a healthy weight. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
