8/15/24: Still available! Dixie is still the same size and fat blind.
*4/26/22 Dixie is still available! Dixie is fat blind due to severe obesity. But she was started on a diet in March!* PPN can help the adopters continue on Dixie's weight loss journey. Info on weight loss: MPI's Weight Loss & RMF's Dieting an Obese Pet Pig
Meet Dixie! She's a sweet, mellow, and laid back piggy who gets along with everyone. She is good with kids of all ages, and she's been good with dogs. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) She's just a lazy outside piggy - perfect outside girl for a home with kids.
Dixie is not altered so arrangements must be made to put her on a diet and have her spayed once she's at a lower weight. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors. There is no adoption fee in lieu of spay/neuter costs.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
There is no adoption fee, but donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
