11/30/23 Still available! Carbon's mom got cancer and he is living outside alone without much attention or care. He really needs to find a home. They are willing to work with the adopter on helping pay for his neuter, and hoof & tusk trim!
Carbon is a friendly guy with a great sense of humor. He'll do little things to get your attention, then oink at you. He loves engaging in conversation: if you talk to him, he'll respond to every sentence with an oink. He loves belly rubs. The moment you touch his belly, he flops over so you can reach better. Carbon is good with kids of all ages - he gets along with everyone. He also gets excited when he sees other animals play and he'll gallop around in a circle or try to run as fast as he can to keep up. He was raised around cats and dogs and is very friendly with them and even sometimes tries to play when he gets excited. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) He is housebroken.
Transportation is available to his new home within 40 miles.
Carbon is not altered so arrangements must be made to neuter prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Neutering prevents behavior issues and eliminates that classic boar odor.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
Donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
