9/29/24: Still available! The army is moving the family and Blossom needs a new home before 2025! Let's get this lady into her forever home! Introducing Blossom! This gorgeous lady was rescued after she was abandoned in a backyard at just 3 months old. She's been living with a military family since, but they will be moving soon and would like to find her a stable home. Blossom is good with kids, and lives with 5 children ages 9, 7, 4, 2, and 7 months. She seems unbothered by dogs unless they harass her. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) Blossom is housebroken and goes outside to potty.
She is very sweet and loves a good belly rub. She will lay on the floor next to you. Blossom can be sassy at times and loves getting into the cupboards if they don't have child locks in them. She knows how to sit on command and will come when you call her. She loves apples as a treat as well as yogurt melts from the toddler section. She loves to have a couple blankets in her crate and will nestle under them. She tends to rip up any other bedding though, so large dog beds are not recommended.
Transportation is available within 200 miles to the new home.
Blossom is not altered so arrangements must be made to spay prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
Donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
