Bella Mae is a pretty indoor piggy in need of a new home. She is housebroken and crate trained. She does well with the large and small breed dogs in the home. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) Bella Mae has always been a sweet girl who enjoys cuddles on her bed.
Unfortunately, she has become jealous and destructive since the youngest child joined the family and her family hasn't had as much time for her. Bella Mae has been good with kids in the home, including teens, she just wants more attention. A pig friend might be a welcome change for her.
6/5/24 Update with more info from her family: "She is just fine with the kids and isn’t phased by them. If anything she gets out of their way and doesn’t both them unless food is involved. Lately she has been flipping everything over in the yard whenever she gets a chance. From the pool pump to the table or kids toys. If you say kisses and close your hand, bringing the back of your hand to her she will put her snout on it as her kiss. She is really a sweet girl. Everyone in the neighborhood loves her and always stops by to see her if she is outside."
Transportation is not available, so the adopter will need to make arrangements.
Bella Mae is not altered so arrangements must be made to spay prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
