Althea from New Paltz NY

8/14/24 Still Available! Althea was adopted 5 years ago after being part of an enormous rescue effort in Kentucky with hundreds of pigs. Unfortunately, such a poor situation can leave it's mark and five years later, she still seems unhappy. The family has worked with pig experts, but she still has some behavior issues and a pig savvy home is needed. 

Althea is smart and inquisitive. She loves fruit and veggies. She enjoys being in her outside pen when the weather is nice and equally loves being in the house. She doesn't mind being in her crate but most enjoys cuddling on the couch a couple hours each night. She does best on a routine and when she can predict next steps. She doesn't like chaos or too many people around her. She prefers quiet. A home without kids or dogs is best, although she's fine living alongside cats and rabbits. 

She bangs on her pen door when she wants to come in from outside. She is very vocal and makes many different sounds for many different needs. She loves classical music. She is a great nester and enjoys fitting her blankets to her liking. She is crate trained and housebroken, going outside to potty. Althea is spayed and current on vet care. 

Transportation is available within 4 hours to the new home.
